Twenty-nine strips and a portion of I-beam make up this piece. The narrowness and thin profile of the steel strips belie the heaviness of the metal. A wind-generated swaying movement enhances this impression of lightness. The pre-existing surface condition of the metal and the effects of applied heat on that metal have been preserved in the finish.
